1. Quick-Glance Deadlines
A – How to Sign Up to Speak at a Public Meeting
We’re glad you want to share your voice! Note that late forms won’t be accepted, so submit yours promptly.
Deadlines to sign up:
Online Form: Must be submitted at least 24 hours before the meeting starts.
B – How to Submit a Comment for the Public Record
Can’t attend in person? No problem.
You’re welcome to submit your comment or question at any time using the form below.
It will be acknowledged by the Executive Director at the next public meeting and recorded in the official minutes.
2. Sign-Up Steps

Fill out the online form completely.
We’ll need your name, address, and the topic you’d like to discuss. -
Send it on time.
See the deadlines above—early is always safer.
3. Showing up in person. When Your Name Is Called.

You must be in the room when we call your name.

Stand up. No need to weave through the crowd.

State your name and address.
-
You have three (3) minutes. A countdown clock and a tone keep us all on schedule.

Speak to the whole board. Address the group, not individual members or the audience.
4. Keep It Courteous

Stick to topics that fall under LRTA’s role.

Use respectful language—no shouting, personal attacks, or profanity.

When the timer sounds, wrap it up.

Disruptive behavior (ignoring the timer, interrupting others, or using inappropriate language) isn’t allowed and may end your turn early.
5. Sharing Handouts
Have data, photos, or a written statement? Hand your materials to the Palmetto Breeze staff liaison after you speak, and we’ll distribute them to the board.
