Island Overview

Daufuskie Island is a residential sea island located between Savannah, Georgia and Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. It has a full-time population of around 430 people, and is home to a resort, a private residential community, and largely undeveloped residential property.

Ferry

Daufuskie Island residents and home owners qualify to ride the Official Daufuskie Island Public Ferry at a discounted rate by obtaining a Palmetto Breeze ID card. In order to obtain an ID card, residents will need to have prior approval from Beaufort County

and must complete an application by visiting this site:  https://www.beaufortcountysc.gov/daufuskie-ferry-id-application.html.

Once you have completed this application, you will be contacted by Palmetto Breeze Transit to schedule an appointment to receive your ID.
